After an outrage within Apple’s recent affirmation that some of the iPad Pro units are really shipping with a very slight bend and it is completely normal, a senior executive of their Cupertino-based firm has come out and reiterated the iPad-maker stands from the tablet. The outcry over the structural integrity of the iPad Pro started after some iPad Pro buyers whined their tablets had developed a little curve or bend during the regular course of usage.
Dan Riccio, SVP of Hardware Engineering at Apple, last week reportedly reacted to a customer’s concerns regarding the iPad Pro bendgate within an email, which has since emerged online. The email notes that the iPad Pro“matches or exceeds all of Apple’s high-quality standards of style and precision production.” He also added that the flatness specification of the iPad Pro at around 400 microns is even tighter than the prior generation. “This 400 micron variance is less than a millimetre (or the diameter of fewer than four sheets of newspaper in most) and this amount of flatness will not change during regular use over the lifetime of the product. Note, these small variations do not affect the functions of this device at all,” Riccio further explained in the email.

Though Ricco’s email doesn’t deny the company’s previous announcement , it does attempt to explain in detail what’s actually happening with this device. This should help calm the dissatisfied consumers, who believed that the company was shrugging away their concerns and any bend in an expensive device such as the iPad Pro is unacceptable. As per the organization’s previous statement, the flatness variations are a result of the cooling process employed in the production of the apparatus. These versions are observable on the device straight out of the box.

At this point, any consumers, who still believe that their’bent’ iPad Pro are defective and needs to be replaced, don’t have any recourse apart from the normal return available in various markets.
