Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite have started receiving the MIUI 10 Global Stable Upgrade, according to some user reports.

The update is reportedly rolling out as a over-the-air (OTA) package in India. While the newest MIUI version brings a listing of interface-level changes to the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite, it does not upgrade the operating system to Android Oreo. It follows that even after installing the latest update, your Redmi telephone will continue to run Android 7.1 Nougat.

Since multiple users reported about the Mi Community forums, the MIUI 10 Global Stable upgrade for its Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite is about 507MB of dimensions. The upgrade, particularly for your Redmi Y1, brings MIUI v10.2.1.0. NDKMIXM, in Accordance with the screenshots shared from the users.

The changelog featured one of those screenshots highlights that the MIUI 10 Global Stable update for the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite provides an updated Android safety patch. The upgrade also apparently fixes the port for switching between front and back cameras through video calls and addresses issues around notifications. Furthermore, it is found to fix problems regarding the lock screen, status bar, and notification bar, and also the default option recorder app.

That said, the most recent MIUI update doesn’t include the expected Android Oreo, and the program is still based on Android 7.1 Nougat.
