China-based Brief video sharing platform TikTok on Wednesday launched a localised version of its”Safety Centre” with Security policies, Resources and Tools in 10 Indian languages.
The”Safety Centre” intends to educate users about protection measures while using the system and is currently available in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Malayalam, and Punjabi, among other languages.
Additionally, it leads users to 2 resource pages which would help tackle anti-bullying as well as an advisory for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
“Since the launch of TikTok at India, we’ve seen phenomenal user development.
“With the launching of our Annual Security Centre and our resource pages for anti-bullying and the general elections, we aim to reaffirm our commitment to India and ensure a secure and positive online environment,” Helena Lersch, Director, Global Public Policy, TikTok, said in a statement.
With the launch of the localised site, users around India may also learn how to maintain their accounts confidential, the need to use strong passwords and avoid spreading private information.
